Moving around México

Mexico has a highway system that connects all the big cities and towns. Only the connection to smaller towns becomes somewhat complicated by the type and condition of some roads.
When planning a trip on the highways, use GPS service with directions and travel times, so that you preferably avoid trips at night. Choose the routes on toll roads or federal highways.
The air connection is very complete. Check if the arrival at your destination includes a stopover between flights.
The country also has a ferry system that covers only 4 routes:

Mazatlán – La Paz

Topolobampo – La Paz

Isla Mujeres – Puerto Juárez

Cozumel – Playa del Carmen

We recommend managing the purchase of tickets in advance, since transportation is highly requested, seats are limited, and there may be no space at the time of arrival.
The bus system in Mexico is very complete and varied in terms of quality and cost, from basic services to very comfortable luxury services, covering a large part of the Mexican Republic.
